CateringKosher Catering in Wilkes-Barre & the Wyoming Valley.
Weddings, simchas, corporate lunches, festivals. 25 to 2,500 guests. Certified Pareve, 100% vegetarian, supervised by the LVKC — one menu that feeds everyone at the table.
We started with one truck and a family recipe for falafel. Fifteen years later we're still hand-rolling every batch — only now we do it for four hundred people at a time, in a tent behind a wedding, or in the back of a conference hall at Wilkes.
Catering kosher off-site is usually the hard part. It isn't for us, and the reason is simple: everything we make is Pareve and 100% vegetarian. No meat, no dairy, nothing that needs separating. That removes most of what makes kosher catering complicated in someone else's building, and it means one menu feeds your vegetarian guests, your vegan guests, and the people at the table keeping kosher — without a separate order for any of them.
Three ways we serve
The truck on-site
We park, we cook, people queue up and watch their falafel come out of the fryer. It's the version people remember — the smell does half the work. Best for festivals, backyard simchas, company picnics and anything where the food is part of the entertainment. We need a level spot roughly the size of two parking spaces.
Drop-off platters
Everything cooked in our certified kitchen, covered, sealed and delivered ready to set out. Lowest cost, least fuss. Best for corporate lunches, shiva meals, board meetings and anything where you don't need us in the room.
A staffed buffet station
Chafing dishes, our team behind them, the full spread — falafel, sabich, tofu shawarma, shakshuka, rice bowls, salatim, fresh pita. Best for weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs, and formal dinners.
Catering at your location
Tell us your venue and event date so we can confirm availability, travel, and the right setup for your guests.
The kashrut question everyone asks
"Can you cater into a venue that isn't kosher?" Usually yes. We cook in our own LVKC-supervised kitchen and bring the food in covered and sealed, so we're not depending on your venue's kitchen to be anything in particular. Because the food is Pareve and vegetarian there's no meat-and-dairy separation to negotiate on-site. If your venue — or your rabbi — has specific requirements, tell us early and we'll work to them rather than around them.
Lead times
- Weddings and large simchas: four to six weeks is comfortable.
- Corporate lunches and drop-off: often a week is enough.
- Under 30 days out: please call (570) 954-3028 instead of using the form. We'll tell you straight away whether we can do it.
One thing to know about our calendar
We close Friday and Saturday for Shabbat, every week, without exception. It's been that way since the first day and it isn't changing. Saturday-night events after Shabbat ends are possible — just ask. More about how we keep kosher →
Tell us about your event.
The more you tell us, the more useful our first reply will be. Guest count and date are the two that matter most.
We reply within 1 business day. For events under 30 days out, please call (570) 954-3028 or email aroundthetable18@gmail.com. All catering is 100% vegetarian and Pareve, supervised by the LVKC.
Catering questions we get a lot
Can you cater into a venue that isn't kosher?
Usually yes. Because everything we make is Pareve and 100% vegetarian, we avoid the hardest part of off-site kashrut — no meat, no dairy, no separation problem to solve in someone else's kitchen. We cook in our own certified kitchen and bring the food covered and sealed. If your venue or your rabbi has specific requirements, tell us early and we'll work to them.
How many guests can you cater?
From 25 to 2,500. Small drop-off orders and full festival service both work — they just need different lead times.
How far in advance should we book?
Four to six weeks is comfortable for a wedding or a large simcha. Corporate lunches and drop-off orders can often be turned around in a week. If your event is under 30 days out, call (570) 954-3028 rather than using the form.
What are the service styles?
Three. The truck on-site, cooking and serving live. Drop-off platters, ready to set out. Or a staffed buffet station with our team running it.
Do you cater on Friday nights or Saturdays?
No. We close Friday and Saturday for Shabbat. Saturday-night events after Shabbat ends are possible — ask us.
Is everything vegetarian?
Yes, and it always has been. Everything is Pareve — neither meat nor dairy — which means one menu feeds vegetarians, vegans, and guests keeping kosher, without a separate order for anyone.
